STRENGTH = WEAKNESS

This business is filled with characters. Filled to the brim, I tell you. Uniquely-programmed personalities not typically found in other businesses. Idiosyncratic is a word that comes to mind. Opinionated is another. Diverse is a third. Deep. Funny. Passionate. Driven. Competitive. Some of us are quiet. Some are loud. Some are loud funny, some are more subtle. Some of us are analytical, some more instinctual. Some are team players, some prefer going alone. Some complain to your face and deal will with confrontation, others would rather complain to someone else. And some internalize until they break out in hives. Bottom line. No two of us are alike. Here’s a term first introduced to me by my better half: “Your strength is your weakness.”

Think of the people you work with. I’ll bet this term can apply to many. What makes someone really, really good at something is oftentimes what irritates you about them. It’s true of all of us. I’m not saying that you always have to contend with a person’s strength and weakness. I’m just saying when things go sour, their weakness is related to their strength.
